There is no Geddy connection to that bass what so ever, nor did I see one claimed in the ad.
Not disputing what the bass actually is, but how the seller chose to frame it certainly couldn't have hurt its chances of being sold is all I'm saying.
I was lucky enough to pick up a fairly used passive model (Pro II) for a price I still regard as used Alembic/custom build territory. I hope the word doesn't get out about them

Wonder if anyone is going to step up and say they bought it.....very surprised seeing it sold to be honest at that price and with those low res photos - not even a electronic plate or cavity shot.
He eventualy did include two rear cavity shots. The plate indeed read Jan 2000

Does it really say it sold for that amount? Could it be that he had been made an offer? Not sure how the system works.
When you go into Ebay's listing history of completed items; Sold items highlight their full sold prices in green and say 'sold' above the picture. Unsold items remain showing the price in black and just says 'ended' above the picture. Items that sold for less are also highlighted green but with a line thru the original price and it shows offer accepted.
As an example, you can see the Mk1 that sold at whatever its full price was.
$15K + $300 + sales tax because of the B$ "marketplace facilitator" laws. That makes it on the order of $16.5K give or take depending on the state it shipped to. Wow.
Do US buyers pay taxes over EBay purchases in the US?

Yes we do, sadly. Reverb up until last year didn't collect sales tax, but now it does too, and they just announced a seller's fee hike last week (making a total of 7.5% charged on each transaction - 5% reverb fee and 2.5% payment processing). I'm not as familiar with eBay's rates, but they do charge tax in all the states.

I think you are both right and wrong. Superwounds had the core exposed. They might have done superwounds with the light funkmaster gauge if I remember correctly. Fumkmasters still sound great but the old superwounds sounded better IMHO
Man, I can definitely remember a few people scoffing at my purchase price of $8200 for my Geddy Spec 2017 Mk1 here on TB just a few months ago! Funny how things work... I was given a very generous price too when you look at what's happening elsewhere. I hope the buyer of the MKII enjoys the hell out of his new bass. The super urgent split-second reaction time to acquire any Wal is very real! The demand is only going to go up from here and I see no end in sight I hate to say it. I genuinely feel sorry for those who have to very patiently wait for a brand new one... I could never do it!

Don't think for a minute now that the nearly-Geddy Mk2 went for 15 large I'm not tempted to list my own Reddy Lee for the same... then I could afford one of those limited-edition crimson FMT USA Geddy Jazzes I've been seeing.
It's good to have dreams and goals.
It's hard for that to not enter your mind when seeing that. Don't let that one go! "Reddy Lee" That is AWESOME!
I was only kidding... it would take WAAAAY more than the allure of a completely overpriced bass to get me to part with Reddy.
