Interesting bass. Especially because of the placing of the neck pickup. I really wonder how that sounds on a Wal compared to the normal placing.

Love that grain in the wood. I would prefer it without the gloss but still looks amazing.
IMO high gloss would be much better on Spalted Maple due to the wood being so soft in places. I have seen other basses with Spalted that "caved in".
Spalted Maple like Buckeye Burl to me is either beautiful of hideous depending on the piece. The facings on this MK3 are beautiful!

Our very own member Toolmybass has the other Mk3 5 with same custom spacing, the one with beech facings, I believe the same guy originally commissioned both basses.

Beechwood was originally comissioned by Gareth Morgan.
I haven't had another MK3 5'er to kind of compare any difference with knobs set the same. But i would guess that it wouldn't be something that would "stand out"
