IMO high gloss would be much better on Spalted Maple due to the wood being so soft in places. I have seen other basses with Spalted that "caved in".Interesting bass. Especially because of the placing of the neck pickup. I really wonder how that sounds on a Wal compared to the normal placing.
Love that grain in the wood. I would prefer it without the gloss but still looks amazing.

Beechwood was originally comissioned by Gareth Morgan.Our very own member Toolmybass has the other Mk3 5 with same custom spacing, the one with beech facings, I believe the same guy originally commissioned both basses.
