I purchased it from him directly via his website prior to the first bid coming in on eBay… That’s why he canceled the listing.

I will let you all know how this goes once it shows up. I tend to think that if things appear too good to be true then… well you know… but I'm just keeping my expectations low and hoping, at best, for a good restoration project to work on. I have NO plans to flip it on Reverb for a stupid amount... only to try my damndest to put some work into bringing it back to life and making it a nice gigging instrument for myself!

Yes. I recently bought a string retainer from them as Wal could not provide me with one. Perfect fit.

I haven't heard one demoed, but in general, the Lusithand preamp is pretty true to the Wal's. The builder winds his own multi-coil PUPs so that may be a variable, but I would have to imagine it will be close. @HotelX we would love to know what you think once you have the bass in your hands.

My casual understanding was that the Lusithand preamp was usually paired with Rautia multicoil pickups, but I could very well be mistaken.

So, if these clones did successfully cop the Wal sound and were more generally available (the same seller sold another clone last December, based on their Reverb feedback), I wonder if they'd have any effect whatsoever in slowing down the runaway prices on used Wals (such as the €19,000 Wal that's still on Reverb).

You can put on any price you want. But if it’s not gone in minutes, you’re “feeling”.
