Did you change the bushings as well ?
Hey Guys,
I posted my first Wal experience! I did have some questions as to the history of the Pro model and the controls if one of the Wal gurus could chime in. Thanks!
Brent
Well...I finally played a Wal!!!
555 GBP which is just shy of $700 USD given the conversion rate + fees. That's shipping from the UK to the US.
Frankly, I am astonished by the shipping cost. Within the last year I have had two basses shipped from the UK to US East Coast, including a Wal from a dealer and the shipping cost on each of those came out below $150. It is possible these were "self-insured" and used regular UPS international service (6-7 days in transit) rather than an express service, but still.
I shipped a Spector to Sweden with USPS for $215 but only came with 500.00 insurance which the buyer would be responsible for shipping damage or loss of bass. I packed it like it would be thrown into the Grand Canyon. Thank God it arrived in Sweden a week later and in one piece! While it is a bit outrageous from Wal, I'm thinking your other sellers ate a bit of the cost to ship overseas.
In the last 8 months I sold two Wals to folks here in the US, and my workplace has a fedex account; the first bass from WA to CO was $180, and the other went to MD and was $215. And that was insuring at full Wal going rates!

Any photos? Mine isn’t far off.Last week I headed to the mothership to take my bass in for a service. What a lovely and patient guy Paul is.

Some folks will be getting some lovely new basses soon looking at the rack of nearly assembled items.
Matching cover plate options are pricey, but I couldn't imagine it any other way.
Sadly not, sorry. I was tempted but I limited myself to a photo of me and Paul. What are you waiting on? I hope you receive an update (and photo) soon!Any photos? Mine isn’t far off.
I’ve selected facings. I think it’s ready around May hopefully. Mk2 fretless 4 with Walnut.Sadly not, sorry. I was tempted but I limited myself to a photo of me and Paul. What are you waiting on? I hope you receive an update (and photo) soon!
Was the figured maple top & back one of the standard wood offerings, or was there an upcharge for that as well?
Gorgeous looking bass!
The standard offerings were an absolute disappointment.
Would you mind sharing the pictures of the standard offerings ?
I actually think that fourth one would look really nice. Here's the initial set of both flamed maple and quilt maple tops (as I was considering both). In truth, all of these still carried a smaller upgrade charge, so "standard" may not be the best label.
