Warmoth Owners Club!!

Not sure I'm technically an owner yet...

Only the body is Warmoth; it's a mahogany Z Bass with maple laminate. The neck is a fretless AllParts that's a Fender J replacement that lived on another bass of mine for a few years, the pickups are Bartolinis, the bridge is a BadAss III and the bass is still with my luthier waiting for the body cavity to get routed a little more so that controls can reach the surface.

That's a great looking finish. :bassist:

Mahogany Dinky J body in satin black finish, wenge P-bass neck with ivory fretboard, Gotoh hardware and duncan SSB4 pickups. I'm waiting for a toggle-switch to arrive, so for now only the bridge pup is wired in. It sounds really nice, and the neck is absolutely fantastic.

It arrived much sooner than expected too, so I couldn't be happier :)

Nice,

May I ask what the neck dimensions are? Is it one of the slim taper necks? Width at the nut? Thickness?

Wonderian slip ???

I don't think it will be a problem. It's called "slim", but it's not really a thin neck - it's actually fatter than quite a few of my other bass necks, and with the steel/graphite rods in there, I'm expecting it to be quite stable.

Just bought this JAZZ body from the Warmoth store. Lace wood top, mahogany body.

I'm debating a lot with myself if I should install a pick guard and control plate... Hmmm... The top of that body is soooo beautiful that it's almost a sin to cover it up. On the other hand, then (for me) a ''real jazz'' has the pick guard and control plate, and I want a jazz-look. I have ordered a crome plate and white pearl pick guard together with the body and will give it some long hard looks before I start drilling holes in the body... Any thoughts and comments on this..!? What would you do? And why..?

Hardware / neck will be:

EMG JVX pick ups and pots
Hipshot brass bridge - crome
Hipshot ultralite tuners - crome
Status Graphite fretted neck

That top is too stunning. But, ultimately it's your bass, and your call.

Yes, that is ''the problem''... Top is too stunning... I really have to consider this one when I get the body.

The double sided tape might actually work for the control plate also as the pots will be installed from the back. The control plate will be clamped between the pot (inside the cavity) and the nut (on top of the control plate)...
