All you've posted from him is a cordial email asking politely to rectify the situation, followed by you going off on him about repeatedly hassling you on your vacation.

WHERE IS THIS ALLEGED RUDE & CURSE LADEN COMMUNICATION FROM THE BUYER? I think that would only strengthen your case, don't you?? All you seem to be doing is obfuscating each question asked of you.

Perhaps it is a 'medical event', it's hard to tell.

So it looks like I win. I have established that the bass was shipped with the flaw, which you denied. I have established that this was your personal bass, not a new one. I have established that you represented this item as being new. Ive established that some of the pictures were altered to cover the flaw. So, I’ve done my job, you’ve been outed. TKO, Lou. This might be a good time to re-examine your character, if you have any left.

It was represented as being a new instrument.. It was not, because the manufacturer refused to honor any warranty work. The manufacturer considers me the second owner, making it a used instrument. The dealer, Bass Southwest, received the bass with the flaw. The builder confirmed that. So the dealer couldn’t sell it with the floor, but he probably paid close to full dealer cost. Then he thought if he could turn it, at retail, he can make a profit on it, like with any other new instrument.

It's a shame I cant post all the emails you sent to me this will show everyone who cares, your true character and your false and misleading statement and your absusve behavior. If you feel you scored a TKO great God Bless you. Only you and I know the truth of what took place with this transaction. I'm happy you are enjoying the bass. Best of luck to you. PS. I found of photo of the original listing with original price your saw when you contacted me check it out. Again all the best keep enjoying the bass.

Now I get well-wishes! Gee, thanks. The truth is out there now, that’s right. A lot of people have now learned about who you really are. Some of them have had the same experience with you that I did. I’ve done my job. You’re outed. Buyer beware.

Here's the thing, the Dealer sells Surine basses with warranties, they are an authorized dealer. This one bass was sold as used according to Surine, yet sold to the dealer (as a customer) as not being new....shouldn't Surine have marked the bass as a defect, second on the headstock as most companies do? To be honest, I see that confusion as something the manufacturer could have and should have prevented on their end. The Dealer gets a shipment of Surine bass, all are for retail sale, except this one....I can honestly see a scenario where the bass getting mixed up with those to be sold if it's not marked in any way as a "second".
Also, the dealer offered to pay for the repair cost, it's the buyer who did not take him up on that offer. I can understand the buyer's anger mind you, but his reaction borders on being harassment and vindictive.

yup. Arrived about the 29th or 30th, I was out of town until the 8th of November. And that’s when I made my biggest mistake which was to not say anything about the finish flaw until I had a good friend with luthier experience look at it and confirm it was more than a finish flaw and an actual delamination between truss rod inlay and neck. That’s my mistake because I didn’t want to be the boy who cried wolf and I waited too long and now I’m screwed on shipping insurance/return. I fixed it myself and play the bass daily. But like OP, the point was to make sure buyers were aware that this guy doesn’t run a “good” business. It came cracked, it was advertised new

Why would a high line bass maker allow the instrument out with an apparently easy to fix flaw?
The Reverb pics show it (although it should have been mentioned in the ad text)
The buyer says he looked at different pics on the dealer site, yet he clearly bought it through reverb.


All three parties could have behaved better in my view

A quibble. I don't think he bought it through Reverb, because the listing is not marked "sold." It just says the listing has ended. When something sells through Reverb, they mark it sold.

It's nice that OP is showing us doctored pics but there's nothing directly linking those pictures to the dealer that I can see.

I did not buy it through reverb. Apparently I bought it direct from his apartment in Redondo Beach.
