How about we work on a shrinking device that could shrink a ship to subatomic size thus letting it follow the rules of quantum mechanics. It shouldn't be that hard since the universe is mostly made up of empty space ... just reduce the space inside until you reach the desired size. Hmm I see some use for other applications with this... One could then be in two places at once, go in at one location, come out at another when you enlarge! EUREKA!

Here's what I'm going to need.

10 years give or take a a day for every person that buys in.
about 5k - 8k but if I get more I'll totally put it towards a great side project like Starbucks across the universe or something else super important like that.

The initial solutions to GR that Alcubierre came up with required vast amounts of energy - if I remember the more than what's available in the observable mass of the universe - but refinements have gotten that number down first to a couple solar masses, then a Jupiter mass and now to a couple hundred Kg. But that only makes the drive a little less impossible to make since the solution requires exotic matter which so far exists only in theory

From what I've read - even if we had a powerful enough propulsion we could only attain around .7 to .8 light speed because to travel at light speed would require that a human, and his spacecraft would have to be transformed into light energy itself.
