Warrior Club Part 2

Played 1 of my Warriors this morning at a big church close to where I live using IEM and DI from my Genzler 800. Absolute best tone I've ever had and several complimented on it afterwards. Absolutely nothing sounds better in a live band setting than these basses IMO.

I just picked up my first Warrior.

That is a nice bass. What are your impressions of it so far? I owned several in this same design and pickups and all have been fantastic.

It sounds amazing. I've never had a B string sound even close to as good as the B on this. The neck is nice and thin and plays pretty well. The action is a little high so I might get annoyed enough to get that dropped a touch. I got it used so I wasnt expecting it to be perfect.

Oh, and it looks nice too.

The thing that makes Warriors so good is the build is so good that the action can be lowered really low without any buzz. They will simply play themselves. Enjoy that beauty.

I am getting some buzz on frets 6 and 7 of the B string so I already had to raise the action. I took it to a luthier friend and he pretty much told me to truly fix the issue I would have to re-level the fretboard (right where the B is buzzing the fretboard is high) and refret it. Not something I am really wanting to pay for since I bought it directly from Warrior. Hoping he extends his 48 hour period on certified instruments to more like 92 hours.

I'm pretty sure JD will take the bass back and do the work for you since you've not had it for a few days. He's always done me the very best. I've never purchased used from him so i can't speak for them but all 6 basses I've had from him have had zero issues.

No I didn't because I had to catch a flight back to NY. However I did pick it up and felt nice. Neck was great and the contour of the body was shaped really nice. Wish I had more time. I liked the Messenger also.

Alright I have a question for Warrior owners. I'm having my dream Warrior built finish and haven't decided what pickup configuration to go with. All the Warriors I've owned have been the MM/jazz setup and I'm wondering what is the favorite of those that have tried different Warriors. I'm wanting either the Dual soapbar or the dual slim X5's. What is the difference for those that have tried? I really need feedback so thank you in advance to those with experience.
