So was looking for a backup amp that I can keep in my gig bag or leave in the car, just in case! Came across this micro Warwick Gnome bass amp. This thing is kick ass! Small as you can see and 200W @ 4 ohms or 130W @ 8 ohms, it sounds incredible. Had it plugged into my GR Bass 210 cabinet and man is it loud and punchy. And well made too, heavy duty steel chassis. Very cool amp!

Picked up perfect size case for it too on Amazon.

I picked up that same one from Amazon in June. (I still can't figure out those knobs!) :laugh:

I think it's one of the best voiced amps I've played! Not a bad sound in it.
It's actually been my main amp the last few gigs with a small trio, running on top of a Genzler NC212 cab.
The Genzler amp in the car as a backup!

I like it so much, I picked up the Gnome 600 from CME. Open box deal (that came factory sealed). Both were really inexpensive, relatively speaking.
I actually prefer the simplicity of the 3 band eq.

The Japanese ones from Amazon were the pro/300w V1 - and at a silly price (thanks to @Bar Band Bassman)
Apparently there's a V2 now, and everyone was blowing the V1 out. (no idea what the difference is)
Keep looking for a V1 Pro.

I came across that one too but I think it's just a WEE bit tight regarding inside dimensions. Maybe not? I went off of these specs from Warwick:
7 7/8" x 5 25/64" x 1 59/64".

I figure 8x6x2 inside dimensions would work. Do I have one of these amps? No. Am I super motivated to get one? Yes.

EDIT: Now that I see the little orange tag peeking out in that post from JBASSRMR, maybe that IS the right case.

That link I posted is what I got and the Gnome fits in it fine.

I picked up the Pro last winter for a spare but really enjoy using it to play and record with. The tone controls are as useful as I’ve ever used. You can get many different tones out of it with some creative twirling. I pair it with a Rumble 115 or Ampeg PF-112 cab and it sounds great with either. It does get warm after a bit, but not hot. Warwick amps seem to have a good reputation and the build quality shows why. Definitely keep it on your short list.
