Would it even cost you $40? Isn't it just (presumably) a simple re-wire?
It shouldn't cost much at all, Doc. When I had my tech swap the preamp out in my Spector, we both overlooked the fact that it needed 25K pots to go with the active pickups in it. I took that bass back in, and it took him *maybe* a half hour to take out the volume and blend pots and replace them with the new ones.
So replacing the blend pot on the Thumb should be a pretty quick, cheap fix. Maybe the store will knock a few more $$'s off for the bass needing repair??

It's a GC where I'm not a regular, I wouldn't bet on it. From their veiwpoint, they are selling a bass that listed for $3,300 for $1665 plus a 10% discount, I doubt if they will budge.![]()
