Guys, what would it cost to fix that pan pot? I'm thinking it will be no more than $40. That Thumb is tempting still.
It would cost me money because I am all thumbs (no pun intended) when it comes to electrical work.
It shouldn't cost much at all, Doc. When I had my tech swap the preamp out in my Spector, we both overlooked the fact that it needed 25K pots to go with the active pickups in it. I took that bass back in, and it took him *maybe* a half hour to take out the volume and blend pots and replace them with the new ones.
So replacing the blend pot on the Thumb should be a pretty quick, cheap fix. Maybe the store will knock a few more $$'s off for the bass needing repair??

It's a GC where I'm not a regular, I wouldn't bet on it. From their veiwpoint, they are selling a bass that listed for $3,300 for $1665 plus a 10% discount, I doubt if they will budge.

It's already a smokin' deal on the bass though, I guess.I'd give your local tech a call and see what he says about the cost of doing it---I'm betting it should be able to be done for very little $.
