Washburn Club Thread

Here is a pic of my Force Prototype. Notice the straight tuners. Before they were changed on the production model.

Guess I should jump in here..

RB 2502 Hammerhead in trans-green over ash. Picked it up with a Washburn metal flight case. Play very nicely, balances perfectly, and it weighs about 9lbs.

Questions for any B20 owners.

I recently found a left hand Washburn B20 bass that needs a little TLC and authentication, and I'm hoping someone can help:

1. First off, I can't find a serial # anywhere. Where should I be looking?

2. One of the tuning pegs/plates is busted (broken in half) and the bass is missing a string ferrule. Does anyone know where I might be able to find a replacement ferrule and tuner (note: lefty on the tuning head) that can drop in without re-routing, re-drilling, etc? The tuning machines look proprietary to me, as the plates are very small and only have two mounting screw holes. The closest I've found is Grover Titans, but I'm not sure if all dimensions will work.

3. Bass has cream colored Dimarzio-style PJ PUPs, which I believe are actually Washburn PUPs. The P PUP has adjustable pole pieces, while the J PUP does not, however, which I found to be a bit strange. Does this sound like a stock configuration?

Any input would be much appreciated. I can try to post more pix if it helps.

Thanks

I've got a Washburn RB4000, a great player but it lacks some punch so I'm thinking about changing de preamp and pickups (Aguilar and EMG)...

Okay, my first post should be about my new old Washburn Force 40 Ltd. Why ? Because it was my search for information on this "new old stock" purchase that led me to this great forum !

Difference between another one in this topic is, this one has DiMarzio P/J Pickups. It's an awesome bassguitar, says the owner of a nice collection of pre '65 American Basses.
But I have to admit, I've got a crush on early 80ies Matsumoku basses. They just couldn't make pickups themselves is my personal opinion, but as long as they used DiMarzio they were the bomb.
This "new old stock" Washburn completely wipes out my Rickenbackers, Jazzbasses...
A bit sad for them, but it's true.

Hello, i own a beginers T14 bass and i felt that was the time to take one step further.
The question was between T24 and Force 4.
Finally I decided and bought the Force 4 I'll have it on my hands in a few days.

Did i made the right choice? which one is better?
Thank you

The Bantam came today and overall I'm impressed. A few dings here and there but it plays great! I've been playing in the active mode with it and I've heard tone through my Zoom B2 that I really haven't heard with my MIM Fender P or my Kramer. Pretty good deal for the money.
The T-14 should be here in a few days. These are the sellers pics. My camera took a header off my deck and is fubar....
