Washburn Club Thread

Gotta question, I am looking at buying a Vulture SB series. It has a headstock repair that looks like a very good job. However, they want full retail price ($300) for it and I am not sure with a headstock break it would be worth it...
I would like to get some opinions, please

Got it!!!

Is there a possiblity that my bass is actually not a Washburn? Without the name on the headstock and no serial numbers, could this be a Matsumoku or some sort of prototype? The headstock has not been repainted and that is not a cap on the headstock. The tuners (I removed one) seem to be original as well...

This is my T14. Nice beginner bass. I've moved on. P Pick up sounds good...nice and full...the J pick up...not so good...too thin. Dead spot on neck around frets 7 8 9 on the D string. Otherwise, nice fast neck. Thought about modding, but not sure it is worth it.

I'm not to familiar with the earlier Washburn hardware, but the bridge and tuners look to be the same as what was on my Hondo bass back in the early 80's. Just a passing observation.

My B-20 Stage Series. Bought it new in London in the early 80's. Never a great sounding fretted bass - possibly my taste and the DiMarzio p'ups didn't agree - so it was turned into a fretless in the mid 1990's. Brass inserts replace the frets (to match the circle fret markers), the p'up covers were replaced with black (the cream was hideous), and the gold speed-knobs were replaced with black barrels. Mwah. These are neck heavy SOBs, and the thin neck takes some getting used to, but it's a warm, growly fretless. Nicknamed "The Beast".

though not technically a washburn, i play a modded lyon by washburn. it plays great and was cheap (80 or so) when i got it, new pickups in it (new since pics) new tuners (new since pics). neck is fairly fast. i like it a lot.

may i join? if so #?

I play the same model (I believe I've got pics in here somewhere). Mine's white, with a black pickguard that's been pinstriped, and I've added a BadAss II, straplocks, and DiMarzio Split P's. I know that it's techincally a cheap bass, but I've never played another bass that I like as much.

thats awesome, its cheap but cool. i put a click lock strap on it, going top put some new tuners and was also lookim=ng at the dimarzio split p, way cool!

A local pawn shop has an XB 200 for sale at $169. Is this a good price?
The most recent sale I coud find on Google was $180 for a black one in 2004.

The condition is good, don't know the age, color is unique: kinda ice blue sorta.

Here's a pic of a red one.

I would be buying this to add to my collection, not for regular playing.

It is not a bad price if you think so. I would not pay that much for it, but I don't want one. Do you know what I mean?? It is a matter for you to decide. I personally do not think a XB anything is worth $170, but I am neither into them nor do I want one. However, if it is THE bass you have been looking for and the money is no big deal, then snap it up and be glad you found it...

I have same bass on this photo, I can't remember its model but I guess it may be LB-20 or LB-40. I really forgot :)

Mine is black colour with black pickguard. Its fingerboard is rosewood. And I didn't do anything for mod. I played my friend's basses and I tried some basses at music markets but I didn't find a bass like this. It is really different. I love it. It is my companero :P

I worked to upload its photo but I didn't digital camera so these photos may not be good quality. Thank you.
