So this Friday I will be getting my washburn. I've looked all over the web and all over talkbass and haven't found one exactly like mine. Force 40 Sunburst Neck Thru MIJ with the dual humbuckers with the inline 4 headstock.serial number starts with 84 so I assume its an 1984 Looks just like the "chicago" but I've only seen two and they were both black with red inlays. I'll put pics up tomorrow Fa sho. Anybody know of one like this?

The finish looks a lot lighter in the pics. It's more Orange/ Sunburst than clear Sunburst. This thing plays like a dream. I love the narrow fat neck. The mid scoop knob might as well be a "funk like you never funked before" knob

Hi all. I have a Washburn Bantam Series XB125 that I have been playing for the last 6 years and I just love it. I have spoiled myself with a Fender P-Bass about 3 months ago and when I wanted to play with my XB125 again after 3 months it just sounded awful compared to the P-Bass. Is it worth my while to do a pick up upgrade? If so what type of pick ups would you guys recommend? My XB is still stock standard and I really want to keep the old girl alive. Any wisdom out there?

Yesterday I picked up a Washburn Bantam XB-100 in the most hideous "metallic lilac" I've ever seen. The guy I bought it from got it from a teenager who quit her "grrl band".

The pots are noisy, and the bass is "buzzy" when I plug it into an amp. Is this thing even worth putting any money into?

If so, I'd love to add another pickup to the single split-pickup on it now. I'd also like to strip the paint, and then just matte finish or oil the basic wood of the body.

Again, is there any point in "Hot-Rodding" this bass? I have a perfectly stock Epiphone Les Paul Special as my main beginner's bass, but this Washburn was too cheap to pass up. It also seems to have a slimmer neck, which is nice for my stubby, short fingers.

Thoughts, anyone?

Eldoryder.
Id say no. This is if my recollection is correct, the bottom bargin cheapist bass they make in that series.

But let me also say, doing stuff like hot rodding a bass is purely conditional and up to the specific person.
If you want to spend your money and fixing it up then that is your decision and no one can really decide for you what you do with your money and time.

Get what im saying?

Good luck either way!

Been on a bit of a bass-buying spree this year. Here's my latest:

And if anybody can tell me what the heck this stuff means, it would be greatly appreciated. I realize that it has to do with EQ presets, but otherwise, I don't get it.
