Braves would need to change too.
I recommend Redskins be changed to "formerly non PC native American slur 1" and Braves to "formerly non PC native American slur #2".

Both teams should call themselves the "Nukes".

I watched a documentary on the Native lady who has been leading the charge for all of these name changes....the Redskins is the worst out of the bunch; the original owner was an avowed racist, and he came up with the name "Redskins" for the sole purpose of making fun of Natives. He thought the name was funny. Only reason their name hasn't been changed yet is because they have the best lawyers

From where I sit, 'Seminoles' or 'Warriors' don't appear racist or derogatory. 'Redskins' is.

I'm learning a new lesson here. As a mostly Caucasian man, I can only point out what I feel is racism towards Caucasians. So much for that ability to empathize that I thought was a good trait.

Except that in real life, "Redskins" was chosen because it is a funny name to call Natives.

But its not a PC dogooder, its a Native American lady who objects to both the name and the reason it was named in the first place. Which apparently was far removed from acknowledged strength on the battlefield.

Hunting season on people you don't agree with. Sounds like PC people behavior to me.

I disagree MT. I don't think a market for that exists in a sport like Football. Funny doesn't sell unless it's the follies. Fans can't rally around a joke. That was certainly well thought out in a board room by people interested in making money.

I see a lot of NHL there.. no NFL. CFL doesn't count... different marketing dept. Canada has a different mindset with naming conventions. So, really, this post was a lovely list of not even applicable. Excellent work DH.
