Every jam I go to there are always more bassists than any other instrument.
(the is one I know of that has a higher number of guitards but they're mostly wankers so I don't go there anymore)

Perhaps we should change the Washington State song to Spinal Tap's "Big Bottom".

Was a different story in the south end...very few bassists, and sometimes you'd be playin' the whole night.
Not aware of anymore jams going on in the sound end.

Yep. I was on for 3 1/2 hours or so at one winery jam a few weeks ago.

Where down south are these jams? I would like to be able to play more than one or two songs a night (admittedly, I'm not very good, only been playing six months...) But the jams I go to all have more bassists than any other instrument, and often as many bassists as all the other musicians combined...I want to learn to play with other musicians, but it's a bit hard when I'm just getting into the flow and they say "ok, we're going to switch out bassists"...I don't mean to complain, and I AM grateful for the chance to play, but I'm getting kinda frustrated...

Hey Bennet, fwiw I had a 751 this summer for a couple of weeks - it sounded great with the DB 112/112NT stack (I Modeled the Vert 12's after yours!), but just sounded too muddy through my sealed cabs. I returned the Aggie, and have been pretty have pretty happy with the Streamliner 900. Just my experience...

Bennet: The DB750 would be on the opposite end of the spectrum to your P1 rig. I owned and gigged one with Eclectic Approach for about a year.

Comparing the two: Not as wide in either direction (top or bottom), an absolute ton of midbass, and a relatively polite upper midrange. It can be dialed to sound aggressive, but "fat at the second overtone" is its bread an butter. The thing kicks like a mule. I've never owned a head that had more "weight" behind the notes. I wanted something more hi-fi so I sold it, but there are days when I really miss it.

Thanks for the impressions guys. I've played one in a living room setting and loved it, but haven't had a chance to play one with a band yet. That "weight" behind the notes sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. What cabs did you use it with Chris?

A couple of Schroeders mainly (410R, or a pair of 15+L's), but the absolute killer was an old SWR 810. The DB750 through an 810 had a tendency to level buildings... Or at least it seemed that way.
