I still wear a watch, but not primarily for time-keeping. I have a Garmin Forerunner 235 that is set to vibrate when something noteworthy happens, like text messages from the wife, reminders for appointments, my turn in some meaningless pass-time like WordFeud, et cetera.
I also use it for tracking exercise stats like pulse.

I gave up. I'm so good at destroying anything attached to me when I wort, the clock in my truck or phone have sufficed for years.
At least the phone can be on an armored case.

I used to wear a watch all the time. I have not for a while now though just because...mainly because my watch broke and I just have not had that hard core itch to get another one. I figure since I have a smartphone on me 99% of the time if I must know the time I'd check that ya know.

I used to be an (budget) antique watch nut, went through many old Gruens and Hamiltons. Then job choices dictated tougher wear, and I went to Timex and Casio, but still the oddball choices. I still have several of those, as well as an odd chrono called The Fish from some unusual company (Parallel Worlds iirc?) but Swiss movement. Needs a band and a battery, that one does.

You guys have inspired me to go shopping for watch things... I think I'll put some of mine back in use.


edit: Apparently the chrono I mentioned was indeed called The Fish and was made by Mondaine for Parallel Worlds. I have seen a very few online listings (like, 3) for a "Sport" model and calling it "rare", but absolutely nothing about a Chrono. Looks like Parallel Worlds is defunct.
