So basically I'm hardly visible.
Maybe they do now. When I was in, those sundials would have been inconvenient to carry.
They used to issue them. But now personnel can buy their own which are cheaper and more durable than what they used to issue. I always see them wearing cheap digitals now. The Casio F91 classic digital has become sort of associated with the military, but there are many like it and many better models now. The last kind that were still being issued in the 80's or 90's were like plastic analog field watches that were not even that durable.

Yes, but when you're pulling into the parking lot at the exact time of your appointment, you're still going to be on time. In your car, not true.My Bride sets the clock in her car Six minutes fast...& THAT DRIVES ME OUT OF MY MIND!! (but only for the last 30+ years)...
When Kurt Cobain passed away, many people just stopped caring about things like being on time.
I can't wear a watch, because the kinds of jobs I always have destroy watches and clothing instantly.

I'm 46. I like my watch and usually have it on. A Swiss Army quartz, about 20 years old. My other one, which I don't really wear any more, was my 13th birthday present, a Seiko. Still runs after a brutal lifetime of abuse. Both are simple, reliable, accurate, nearly bombproof. I was going to get a mechanical watch, but even cheap quartz ones are more accurate than high end automatics.
I don't think it's an age related thing. It's simply a preference thing. I have friends my age (30's) who love watches and wear them all the time, and some like me, who can't stand the feeling of a watch on their wrist.
Aahhh, true...but as was noted earlier, for (TOOO) many years my entire life revolved around being On Time, Every Time.
I am very comfortable...cocky even, about my ability to backtime...be it into a network newscast, or an appointment in the real world.
It’s a two way street...
That drives me crazy about my Bride, and bazillions of things I do every day drive Her crazy.

I have a couple pocket watches of his that need a going over too.
Every single person I know who does this is no more likely to be on time than a person with the normal times set, and they are often 5 minutes or more late...because they know all the clocks are 5 minutes ahead. Even (so they think) the ones that are not...
48. Lifelong watch wearer here. I’m a sucker for a finely tuned instrument.
