I thought for sure i wouldnt like it, i bought the spec edition and didnt like it, but i listened to it 10-12 times and started liking it more and more. I convinced myself i liked it, and yet it has never been in my cd player again, whereas BWP, deliv, GR and my favorite..still life have. I keep telling myself i need to listen to that again but when i walk over to the cd player i put something else in. I like the newer stuff till now, but i really liked still life and morningrise the best maybe. I really only listen to opeth. i have every cd, i have copies made for the car. I have hundreds of cds but really only played opeth for the past two years, for the past month i really listened to nothing aside from bwp in the house and still life in the car.

I agree completely. I haven't listened with headphones yet, but I did notice while driving that bass part under the "Ghosts and Goblins" section. His tone is fantastic there. Are there any other parts in particular that stand to you guys?

I thought the melodic bass line in Coil was positively beautiful. The little fills beneath Burden where something to be marveled at. At about 7:43 in Hessian Peel his tone really fills out beneath the two acoustic guitars, and finally in hessian peel again during the slow riffs at the start, REALLY in the pocket. His second best album yet (next to ghost reveries) for me.

ghost reveries is still the best for me. I appreciate alot of watershed, but its just not BWP or GR or damnation/deliverance.

... The first that comes to mind is the one in Lotus Eater under the carnival keyboards... the way the drums and bass lock in there is something to awe at. Puts a smile on my face everytime The tone of his Marcus Miller is killer there too, really burpy and it cuts through the mix.

Sounds like he's using a pick there.
