Got to here no issues

Here we were good.




It was playable. But half of the part were for another bass, the Thunder Jag



This was two test pickups and locations. But I liked how it played. So we got/made more parts

It's successfully stained. Obviously it's not stained how you envisioned ift being stained, or you would not be calling it an utter failure, but it's quite clearly a different color, so that's stained, and if you were going for a "chalkboard that's been erased but not washed" look it's right there. Not too far off some of those "propane torch finish" jobs that are popular if you call them by the right Japanese name I don't recall, too.

Yeah it’s not going to end up as a decent looking project where it started. But I’ve been thinking about this for a few weeks, and I think the final outcome will be worth the effort of sticking it in reverse and relaunching.




I’m actually kind of excited for the outcome. Best part is, every part is used or recycled other than the neck plate and the strap buttons

I’m kinda liking that grey finish. I’ve been thinking for a while how I’d go about doing a BarnCaster (aged wood bass). The look I’d be trying for isn’t far off yours, I’d probably distress the wood a bit more, scuff up the finish a bit, spot blast it with a sand blaster to create some raised grain, maybe hit it with a couple of quick swipes of light and dark brown over the grey then finish it off in a thin matte finish.

So the main reason for cannibalizing this, I’m moving the pickup route and not doing a full over pick guard

That's the strangest grip I've ever seen for a bowling ball.
