We got bumped for.....Pitbull?

Sure there may be the odd metal tune that isn't half bad but if as an adult I was going to make a career out of music I'd likely try to perform to the intelligence of people my own age and not obsessivly aim everything directly at impressing pre teens that don't know what good sounds like.

Metal is about selling an image, not music.

I wonder what good sounds like? What have I been missing out on all these years?

True Dat.... It's the music of 14 year old boys and adults that act like them. As can be see in the first post. I think it's a pretty uphill battle to try and get people to take you seriously when you insist that you be childish, insulting and full of yourself. All while bragging about making stupid life choices.

Let me guess, only jazz is "mature" enough for you?

Any music that is sales based is about selling an image. Thats how business works.

Doctor, the situation described in your OP is the archetype of what most of us have(or will) experience, whether metal or not. Many of us did handle things in a nonprofessional manner, and woke up the next morning regretting it. But, we learned. Moving forward, you may choose a different way to handle a given situation, perhaps attaining more favorable results.
Could the OP be stickied as how NOT to handle these situations?
BTW, all genres of music sell an image to go with the music. I doubt Bootsy dresses like that when he sits in his living room watching football.

.... If the night went smoother and I was up to it, I would have been playing Sabbath. I was willing to get past wanting to punch that dude in the face to get my Geezer on.

The world would be a better place if people took out their anger on the people that pissed on them, rather than pissing on someone else.

It's always guys without a gig who say stuff like this. You obviously have no clue.

"True Dat".

I dunno, but really, you came across as quite the douch yourself in your original telling of the story.

Maybe the bass player didn't have pedals of any sort, so they did the song the best they could. But to be cool, you boo'd him. (later to say it was wrong- very cool way to man up. Kudo's/respect for that)

You took advantage of a guy buying you a lot of beer and you're OK with that. :hmm:

To be honest, you came across as some sort of "rockstar" type. And rockstars you're not.

Based on you original post, I'd think you're a complete a$$.

I kinda agree with him to an extent.
And I have a gig(s).
Lots of them actually.

ALL music is about selling an image to a degree. It's just if you decide to use that as part of your process to get your music out there.

I'm 37, have 2 masters degrees, my own business, a wife, 2 kids, own my own home, am clean shaven and short haired, look like any other businessman. I don't smoke anything and very rarely drink at shows. Most of the time I give my drinks away/ Yet when I go home these are the bands I listen to.

You sir, need to widen your views, you Canadian socialist, eh.

This is the lamest thing I have read so far on these forums. This is lamer than the OP's lame behavior.

You sir, need to widen your views, you Canadian socialist, eh.

The absurdity of this statement is astounding.

-you assume he is a socialist
-you imply that all canadians are socialists (fyi, the current party in power is the Conservative Party)
-you use the term 'socialist' as an insult
-you correlate socialism with a close-minded mentality
-you tag it with 'eh' because we all say that, amirite? just americans all say "yall" and carry handguns everywhere they go? :eyebrow:

I have no idea the way your brain arrived at these conclusions, but I'd love to know what convoluted thought process was involved.
