Wearing hats while playing; yes or no?

Gotta have something on my head unless it's a venue that doesn't allow headwear for security reasons. I have a black Homburg, a leather newsboy and a bunch of do-rags. My rationale is that it makes the trips to the bar easier for the drinks rider "Oh you're the band".

Also, I'm playing a long game - I'm not bald but who knows if I will be one day, and if that day comes, nobody will be able to say that I'm only wearing a hat because I'm bald.

I’ve always liked the look of a bowler hat like Stan Laurel wore, but I’m not going to shell out that kind of dough if I was too embarrassed to wear it. Not to mention it would have to be the right sort of band/gig.
My hair’s gone on permanent vacation :bawl:, so if I’m outdoors in the summer I have no choice but to wear a ball cap to keep from frying.

In my younger days, no. Now that I'm a lot older with a taller forehead, I'll often wear a campbell-plaid driving cap. I put it on backwards so the bill rests against my ponytail. I think it's a cool look for a fat old bass player with long hair who most commonly can be found on-stage playing blues and rock.

My forehead starts at my eyebrows and finishes at my heels :woot:.
