I wear a hat 99% of the time (other than events). Other than playing bass, collecting hats is another thing I do. I actually have a hat wall holding around 150 baseball hats. So my answer is yes.

I don't gig--but did play wearing a hat in a church talent show last fall.
Normally I haven't.
Years ago, while in high school I wore a fake Police hat (Wrong colour brim--so actual police told the person I borrowed it from that it was okay)

But my thoughts overall?
Depends on the band, the music, the setting, the context, the hat & the musician

I go naked around the house for 4 months a year so I’m not the guy to answer that one . Can’t stand pyjamas either.

Jeff is doing a huge ELO tour this year, my dad and I are going. Pretty excited for it.

I did the baseball hat thing(brim forward) 99% for about 35 years through about 2015. Mostly to help prevent wrinkles.

I had Maybe 15 hats total. A friend used to work at a hat making company so I ended up with some cool sports related championship ones.

Now, since I still have most of my hair and few wrinkles, I mostly go w/o a hat unless I'll be in direct sunlight on hot days.

I once saw a guy at a bar hitting on women with a Coors light stetson. I really hope he didn't pay for the thing. I mean, I say that, but it actually worked.

I've worn hats on stage before, a cheap trilby in a ska band before that was a faux pas - the trilby, ska was always a faux pas. Probably baseball caps at some point. I've also worn my ushanka a couple times out of boredom. Looking like a dork isn't so much of an issue when your whole band are also dorks and you've already got a girlfriend. At this point I'd probably quit doing that if I were in a new band - the more I think I have style, the more wrong I am.

there’s an unwritten rule, only one guy in the band can be hat-guy or shaved-head guy. Else it gets real weird, real quick.
