I'm not a doctor but sometimes I play on on the radio. From your photo and description it sounds like you have a common condition known as phalangial plucktaritis. Giving it few days rest and a protective cover such as "New Skin" or super glue will usually help promote a fast recovery.

I am using 1 week old Rotosound RS66LD strings. I am a huge fan of geddy lee and I think I was digging in too deep.

That would definitely do it.

Heck, main plucker normal callous looks like that all the time. The dried skin stuff is porous. If you do a lot of woodworking, staining, old greasy mechanical work or car brakes it'll get in there and stain it, hard to get it off. Some aniline dies come off when the skin does. Stainless and nickel flatwounds don't help any, nickel oxide is a dark grey, I get it from my flats. Every once in while a disk about 5/16" diameter starts to flap off when I'm playing. Eventually it falls off and there's another layer beneath it, no big deal.

Heck, we got one of those O2 monitors that clips on your finger; won't even get an accurate reading on my index and middle fingers on my right and none of the first three fretters on the left, have to use the remaining three fingers to test.

I used to get this on both fingers but I adopted a softer technique with slightly lower action and haven’t had it since.

of course if it doesn’t get better in a few days see a medical professional.

IME, super glue can work and I have and will use it myself, but I also had a bassist rip his fingertips off sweating on a hot stage .... pay attention with it on because it deadens the nerves, until it really, really doesn't.
