Weird things you do...

i do that too. also when i pump gas into my car i have to pump either to a dollar amount that is read the same backwards and forward($56.65) or rounded to the nearest quarter. ($30.25)

when i purchase multiples of the same item i have to get an odd number. i don't call myself OCD because i haven't been officially diagnosed but i do have OCD tendencies.

hmm... well i don't drive or buy gas yet so i can't quite say i do those too... but i dont' call myself OCD I'm just wondering if that would be considered OCD because it annoys the heck out of my family and friends when i do it... and it really annoys me but i can't help it.

Whenever I start seeing a girl, I casually joke that I'm going to kill her. I'm usually pretty subtle.

I don't plan on actually killing her, I just wanna see how well she can take a joke.

Example: About 3am, in the middle of nowhere in my room mates car with some chick, who I've met all of 2 times before.

Girl:I really don't know you all that well, you know?
GE: Yeah, but hey, its not like I'm a psychotic killer or anything.
Girl: Yeah, I guess so.
GE: I mean c'mon, its 3am, and no one's in town. I could kill you and bury you in a field and no one would ever find your body.
Girl:...

See? Subtle. :D

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I had a shovel in the backseat I bought earlier in the day for yard work. I also pointed this out to her during some point of our conversation IIRC.

wow... had i had a drink in my mouth i would need a new computer... i should try that sometime... i'm sure it will go well...

It varies from person to person. A lot of people have in the mildest form, which is basically where your body rarely goes into REM, the deepest sleep. Therefore, the person is abnormally tired during the day because they didn't get a good night's sleep.

When it's more intense, like what I have, you get really really effed up dreams which are really intense and often negative (nightmares.) My dreams are almost always something positive or fun, like a day out at an amusement park, that turn into something attacking me (hence the tensing and punching). Anyway, I hardly ever experience REM, and therefore am pretty much tired all the time. I have really irregular sleep patterns, which is why I'm posting this at 3:23 am when I have to work in six hours. Narcolepsy also effs with me in the way that I can often be really attentively watching something, and then sort of randomly pass out. I have to consciously try to stay awake if doing something important like taking a test or driving. If not, I can just nod off. It's kind of scary if you don't know how to deal with it, but if you know what to expect you can stay safe and lead a regular life. :)

also spankypants would the fact that i have to have all volumes that have visual volume numbers (like car stereo or tv where it shows the volume level with a number) at 5 even though i know its ridiculous and that it something i shouldn't bother fixing. Like my parents will adjust the volume and even though i know i should really bother because its really stupid i have to reach it up and change it to the closest incriment of 5?

This is actually relatively common. Some people just want volumes in odd-numbered increments, some in increments of 5, and so forth. I don't know you, I'm not a psychologist. I can't diagnose you with anything, but it really doesn't sound like you have OCD. It sounds like you may want to have OCD, though...

You may be particular about your volume, or you may enjoy steady gradients or patterns or whatever. People generally like consistency. Everyone is particular about some things, but this doesn't mean that they have OCD tendencies. OCD is an illness. It causes problems. Big problems, real problems. Problems in everyday living - not things like how loud your music is in your parents' car.

It's not cool or trendy to have OCD, and it's not easy to deal with. If you really had the disorder, you'd know it. You're trying to find ways that the symptoms can apply to your life, but it still isn't nearly severe enough to resemble anything as serious as OCD.

You're just picky about the direction of screws and your volume levels, but it wouldn't surprise me if it's because you choose to be. Like how atoz is particular about how he puts on his shoes. If he really wanted to, he could do it in any other order he could think of, but if he had OCD, he couldn't force himself to do it any other way. To him, the order and procedure of how he puts on socks and shoes has become second nature. Not a compulsion.

This - especially the hoarding - sounds more like Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder, but again - I don't know you. They're just activities that are often associated with OCPD. If it inhibits you from everyday living, see a doctor. If it's really a problem, seek help. If you can live comfortably otherwise (even if you humor these odd quirks), then you're probably fine.

hmm... well i don't drive or buy gas yet so i can't quite say i do those too... but i dont' call myself OCD I'm just wondering if that would be considered OCD because it annoys the heck out of my family and friends when i do it... and it really annoys me but i can't help it.

Again, it sounds like you're searching here.

I thought narcolepsy meant falling asleep while under pressure or stress

Maybe you're thinking of vaso-vagal syncope?
