Always loved Mosers work though.... Not right for my blues and classic rock gigs, but his basses do sound great.

I don't think of The Monster (my custom Moser Arachnid Ultra) as "weird" Most definitely "unconventional", though! You can be the judge!

The CCDB Regvlvs Super-Contrabaixo, built in 1965 by Brazilian audio pioneer Cláudio César Dias Batista of the band Os Mutantes. It had 24 frets, active electronics, a separate pickup for each string, a wireless transmitter, a steel cable truss in the neck, anatomically designed die-cast tuners. etc. Remarkable for the time.

There was a curved FB extension that reached up to the 30'th fret on G-string and roughly followed the curvature of the bottom portion added later as well.

Sadly, that's the only photo I have of it, even the negative is lost .

Wow, I don't know what I would do with thirty frets. That sounds ridiculous, although pretty awesome.
It is a shame that is the only picture you have. I bet it looked even better in person though.

She plays like butter! A MUCH better bass than I am a bassist! The best thing about a Neal Moser built bass or guitar is that the playability and sound are unsurpassed!

Bee Basses are all custom made. If you want a 4-string version, he'll make one for you.
