BTW, if anyone's interested in the BFR "All Rosewood neck" special editions coming out on 17 Nov - go to the EBMM website.
One of the occasional objections I hear about the Bongo is that the neck's painted - these will be raw rosewood.

Thanks. I ordered this one color-unseen and couldn't be happier. It is an amazing color - shifting from dark brownish to muted gold sparkle as the light changes. Plus with the dual pickups and the piezo bridge I am finding tons of cool tones and sounds.

Came with roundwounds on it and I was about to put flats on last night when I found I had a set of d'addario half-rounds. Threw those on and so far am enjoying the sounds.

Well, have you ever tried to source left handed paint? That stuff isn't easy to come by.

If you could get used paint, already Bongo shaped, you could save some serious coin. I did that with a spiral staircase once, great time saver as well. I saved enough to get a new glass hammer and a couple of boxes of wooden nails!
