Ok, here is my BONGO 5 HH.
Even though it`s hard to find in a dark room :ninja:, I´m still amazed how greate this Bass feels and sounds espec. with a real loud band :D
The b-string is even punchier than the one on my Stingray 5 (and that is not the worst 5-string Bass ;) ) .

THAT is the best bass for metal. No doubt.

Finally, it's settled. I can sleep now!

That blue Bongo - This bass I would own. *love* that color /pick guard combo!

I just picked up an orange (forget the actual colour name) Bongo 5 HH today in trade and can't believe how great it sounds.

I played a egyptian smoke Bongo 5 HH up until 3 years ago or so and it was the only bass out of the over 50 I have owned in the last 4-5 years that I really missed owning/playing. I have owned tons of high end basses in that time including many Roscoes, Sadowskys, a Dingwall, anni EBMM Stingrays, Benevente, etc.

Anyways, I have only had the Bongo a few hours and I am breaking my number one rule tonight... I am playing the Bongo on a gig tonight before trying it at rehearal.

Pics to come but I am very happy to be back in the club!

My Roasted Bongo 4H is finally finished and arrived a few weeks ago at Bass Central. Tax refund should be deposited into my account on the 18th and it will then be shipped that same day when I pay it off. Here are some pics of it.

I wonder if the balance will be thrown off because of the different neck? Not sure if there is any weight difference. Very nice choice though...I owned a couple in late 2009, and like a fool sold them both for a Dargie Stingray....even though the Bongos sounded better. In any case, the one I just purchased (blue pearl 4HH) should be getting here on Wednesday or Thursday. :bassist:

Hey Rog!

The necks are the same weight. I have a Big Al 5 bfr roasted and those necks do sound and feel incredible...

I just bought a 2004 Bongo 4HH in Lava Pearl....
As the owner of two MM rays ( 1 - 4HH limited) and (1 - 4HS )
I have to say.....I LOVE THIS BONGO for sure!!

so different....so light and balanced....
and the 18V pre amp flat out takes the amazing tone it puts out and blasts it through the roof!!
Amazing tone....

Problem is....The UPS store who shipped it to me...did not pack it and just tossed the case into an oversize box with not so much as a tissue in it .....so the Bongo suffered damage....

chunk in the pointed part of the headstock....and broken in half front volume pot ....
For sure not enough to make me give her back for a UPS Insurance claim.....this baby is MINE!!!
New pot on the way from EBMM ....tech appt set up for install....will learn to live with the chunk out of the headstock....life goes on as they say :)

will post pics when I get her pot replaced and snap better pics, to get a number and join up with fellow bongonians.....hahaha!! :)

Hey MrfStop

Do not let UPS off the hook! The seller can file a claim and get your bass repaired and you still keep it. A lot of hassle - but worth it. I had UPS break a $5200 custom Moser and they are paying to have that fixed with hand labor and paint. The Bongo has a bolt on neck. They should pay for EBMM to get you a new neck.
