What a P Bass Sounds Like...

James Jamerson probably has the quintessential rosewood neck, flat wound, mellow P bass tone. Maple neck with round wounds and a pick gives you that more aggressive rock tone. A myriad of tones in between these extremes. Tone is also dramatically affected by where you pluck the string. The P always has defined mids that fit into a mix well IMO.
