The Squire VM jazz I played the other day was a lot more smooth that the standard MIM Fender jazz. I have been eyeing the three tone sunburst with maple fretboard and block inlays. I'd have to get a tort pickgaurd, but no biggie.

It's a tough decision right now because it's gonna be a bit before I get anything new, but... I'm either gonna get a Danelectro Longhorn within the next six months, or a choice between an Ibanez Grooveline/Rickenbacker 4003/something from a custom luthier(maybe xylem) in about a year or so.

G&L L2500 Trib in the next month or so- that one's definite and it fills a need for a 2nd 5er.
On the "want" side of the ledger- I still have SERIOUS T-Bird GAS- I want an Epi Classic really, REALLY bad!
2 others are a 55-01 and a particular Spector NS-2A that another TBer owns that I THINK was the one I owned in the late 80's early 90s!!! He's also the guy I'm getting the L2500 from so when I go to pick it up from him, I'm gonna take a look at the back of his NS-2A. Although I dont have pics of the back of it, I remember something particular about the neck-thru lams that you could see thru the trans-blue finish.

Believe it or not, I'd love to have another Mexican Fender Precision Bass Special with the Jazz neck and p/j pickups. I had a great black with gold pickguard that I'm kicking myself for selling. Played and sounded as good as my Hot Rod P Bass, actually the neck on the Mexican was more comfortable.

The friend (and cousin) of mine who sold me the Telecaster bass last summer also has a 2004 Jetglow Rickenbacker 4003. It's so clean that if it was hanging in a shop it could be mistaken for new. (It still has the flag sticker on the pickguard.) He bought it and never got comfortable with it, so it's lived in it's case for nine years. He offered it to me for a very fair price, and is not in a hurry to sell. I'm saving my nickels and dimes and I hoping to get it in May or June.
