Sylvia Plath's The Bell Jar.
I read her 'unabridged' journal a few months ago.
She was an amazing woman, that's all I can say.

Sylvia Plath's The Bell Jar.
Just couldn't get into Dune, will have to return to it when I'm in the mode for that type of Sci-Fi.
Started on Stephen Kings 'Christine'.
"The More Than Complete Hitchhikers Guide" - Douglas Adams
'Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy' is the first book of five in this series.

Christine was a decent read.
I've always been quite fond of Kings writing style. Simple without being plain. Only a few chapters in, so not much has happened, but a good read thus far!
I used to avoid King because of his simple narrative style, but after reading a few of his books at my wife's urging found that I quite enjoyed it.
Ive heard a lot of bad remarks in regards to his newer material, but I havent read much of his post-80s work to form an opinion.

New visitor here! Ironically, I came to talk about starting Dune for a third time, and it turns out this page was already filled with Dune-talk. For anyone shy to read because of it's size, slow-ish start, or scope, I encourage you to stick with it. It becomes quite a rich and philosophically interesting story once you're hooked.
i_got_a_mohawk said:I used to be quite similar, the real turning point for me was reading the complete version of The Stand (which is still my favourite King book). I think the newest King book I've read was The Green Mile, which is mid-90s IIRC.
I have a few of his newer works, but not read any yet.
