Yup, that one is a tough read. Have your read Tolkien's short stories. "Leaf By Niggle" is my favorite. It is the story of a man who worked his whole life on one painting. Some people say Tolkien may have been making a statement about his writing.Technically I believe so but I already had the other books and I just bought The Silmarillion a few days ago. This will be my first time reading it. I've heard it can be a tough read.
Someone on TB here pointed me to this book.Didn't know this existed, going to have to check it out.![]()
As both an English major AND a huge Tolkien fan, yes - it's tough. It's essentially a history book for Middle Earth, but told in narrative form. I love it, but it's not a light read by any stretch.Technically I believe so but I already had the other books and I just bought The Silmarillion a few days ago. That's a bummer. I'm working my way through the Stephen King library. I just finished The Regulators, next up is The Green Mile.
That sounds like a daunting project!
I've read a fair bit of his work and am about 50/50 in liking it.
Under The Dome, 11/22/63, Cell, Joyland and the Bill Hodges trilogy are ones I enjoyed a lot, not really a fan of the more supernatural stuff.
