The Complete Joy of Homebrewing - Charlie Papazian

Have you brewed your own yet? One of my roommates in college was really into the home-brewing thing, and he managed to churn out some pretty good stuff. He used that book as well as one called Radical Brewing, I think.

Have you brewed your own yet?

I've been brewing since 1989 when I read the first edition of Charlie's book. Back then the recipes mostly called for extract syrup boiled in a pan for 10 minutes then dumped into a carboy with a packet of dehydrated champagne yeast.

Charlie Papazian's The Homebrewer's Companion is essentialfor the homebrewer or anyone who respects the craft.

I haven't read this thread all the way through so I don't know if this book has been mentioned before but I just finished "1491" by Charles C. Mann - an eye opening book. It completely changed my conception of the America's before Columbus.
