Well, the book was okay. I was a bit annoyed at Chris, to me it seemed he was still in a teenage rebellion phase and always seemed to have a huge chip on his shoulder regarding society in general. Yet apparently he said that he wanted to get married and settle down later in life.
And yes, his huge lack of preparation and frankly his arrogance and lack of respect to the nature killed him. A simple little map could have saved his life in the end, but he was so set on being independent and living off the land.
What also bothered me was how incredibly selfish he was. Yes granted he had some issues with his parents, but not speaking to them for two years and keeping them completely in the dark was just mean (imho of course).
