I'm currently reading the Internet. I was about halfway done, but lately they've been adding chapters at a frightening rate...so I'm less than a quarter of the way through it now...

Funny - I was just reading The Call of the Wild to my son.

For myself, I read The Bavino Sermons by Lesego Rampolokeng. He is a South African poet who uses a kind of "rap" in-rhyming idiom to address race issues and social concerns. He's pretty intense, and probably even more effective heard live.

Re-reading Metaphors We Live By, an analysis of concepts prebuilt into the language we speak. The authors are George Lakoff and Mark Johnson.

I have Catch 22 and Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency lined up after this. I just finished all the Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy books too

I stopped reading after two-thirds of the book. I was just extremely annoyed by this guys complete lack of preparation/gear/etc. To me it read like one of the most elaborate suicides in the history of man. I like his concept, surviving in the wild, independence, etc, but the basic rules of eating plants that you don't know (hand-lip-mouth etc) could have saved his life.
