You know, when I started hiking I always promised myself never to start mountaineering, after reading about all those tragedies and disasters in the mountains...

but at the same time a little voice inside me is telling me that mountaineering really is the next step.

"Rama II", the sequel to "Rendezvous With Rama", by Arthur C. Clarke and Gentry Lee. It's the second in a four-book series.

Oh wow. I didn't know there was a second one. I loved Rendezvous With Rama. Nice. I will pick this up.

Lord Hamlet's Castle, by Hunter Steele. It's a freewheeling prose interpretation of what might actually be happening in Shakespeare's most famous and enigmatic drama. Raunchy in places, and often plausible in spotlighting overlooked subplots.

EDIT: Now that I'm through with it, I must say all the salaciousness really became overbearing, as if the author put it in for his own gratification. The style was self-consciously cute, with much obtrusive alliteration, but otherwise I found it useful for making out the possible motivations of the main characters, as well as some of the more obscure puns.

Yeah, this is the first time I've read it, and I must say that I really enjoy it. I'm not quite done, but I'm probably 2/3 of the way through it. It reads very easily. I can see why it is a staple of classic American literature.
