It is SOOOO worth it, especially if you spend a good hour or so tweaking the internal threshold trimpots. It only works in multi band mode though.

Always on, never off, frequently adjusted:
Schism XV > Submarine Designer
Schism always has at least one channel active.
Submarine Designer is set to 'standard Submarine', though often the 600Hz boost is on, and occasionally the 1000Hz boost... love... those... switches!

Hey Vlad5, whats the advantage to parallel mixing with the Schism?
My effects loop in my SD800 is parallel instead of series and I didn't seem to get the desired sound from the rack unit I tried it with. Could be the rack unit I tried, but I was surprised to find my fx loop to be parallel TBH..
Obviously its different with a dedicated pedal with mix knobs, but thats my only experience with parallel, wondering how you apply it with your pedals.

Martin & Co. Porta-Con preamp. It was made for DB's & acoustic instruments, I believe. I apply it to my P-bass.

That would be a vintage Roland Jazz Chorus 55. It does clean the way clean is supposed to be done, but it doesn't do grit. At all. Well, there is a distortion knob, but it's wretched.
Just bought an Aphex Bass XCiter out of the classifieds...once she gets here, she'll join my "always on" pedal board...
Those aren't effects good sir, I believe you are confused.
Effects are little boxes that you stomp on with your feet, and if you did that with your hands you wouldn't be able to play bass! Thats just silly!
Bass -> SansAmp BDDI -> Markbass Compressore -> Fender Rumble (imput). BDDI and Compressore are always on.
It depends on what I'm playing, but my Demeter Compulator is always on, as well as my Phat Phuk B.
