I always have some combo of my Bad Monkey, Submarine, and PC-2A on.
I like to have a little grit, light compression, and tone sweetening.

I'm just using it on my upright to match volumes and tones with my electric so it works for my purposes.I had the linden for a while but I ran so much dirt it really didn't seen to make a difference but I loved it when I using just clean tone

2 channel setup from Attitude bass:
P p/up (highs) into -> eq to remove low end (always on) -> compressor (always on) -> light overdrive -> (nearly always on) -> distortion (used sparingly)
Neck woofer p/up (lows) -> eq to remove mud (always on) -> compressor (always on)
Both mixed via LS-2 (always on, obviously) -> tuner (on when needed) -> fuzz (used sparingly)
