What are your fav cab configurations?

I am doing a poll basically to see what most modern players are using so I can build a test cab(s) to voice our new line of bass amps through.

I personally use an old VT 4x10 as I got it from a neighbor as a gift but it is nothing special really; with my rack I can get it to sound pretty good though.

I have never been into using a tweeter, I used to bypass the one in my old Eden 410XLT cab.

I want to build a 2x12 cab for myself soon seems to be the most natural choice for classic rock, country and funk.

In the past I found 15's to be too slow and 10's not really rich enough for my taste.

I just don't want to voice a head through a cab I alone would use and wreck it for all the others...

I have found the same thing with 15's. They are okay but I like the response of a 12 better. My favorite is a combination of a 2 X 10 or a 4 X 10 and a 2 X 12. Seems to cover everything I need. However your own ears must decide.

I'm diggin Avatar neo lf 12's which are very economical and imagine the pricier models might be even more pleasing but I have no personal experience with them.

12's are the way to go. They are really the right size to use for bass, Great Lows and good upper mids. I don't why they got away from using 12".

I'm undecided. I like an 810 a lot, also 215's...212's are pretty cool if they're built right. But I'm also getting into the 2-way high efficiency thing as well.

I'm digging by SWR Big Ben 18" and Avatar Neo 2x12 but I'm not looking for modern tone more like hard/psychedelic rock circa 1969

wow, im gonna come out of left field on this one and say 4x10 + 1x18, or a 2x15, thats what I always dig the most, but now a 4x12 thats a cool cab too, I got an old ampeg v4 one thats awesome. what I dont dig are 8x10s and 410 and 115, cuz the 18 just does the job better, but honestly the diff in all the cabs I just mentioned is so negligible that it dont really matter I can get "my sound" out of any of them but its ezest to do with the bigger speakers. have fun building your cabs man.

I have this same set up. Though I usually just use the 4x10 most times. I love the sound of the Golliath III 4x10.

2 2x10's stacked vertically. Would love to try 2 212's stacked vertically.

I wish avatar would make a b212 with both speakers aligned rather than in a 410 sized cab and the speakers diagonal.

I run an avatar 2x10 neo and 2x12 neo. Its quite nice. You get the punchy 10's sound on stage as the speakers are up at your level. But move 15 feet away from them and the blend is fantastic.

I also like how I can just take the 2x10 or 2x12 to rehearsals or gigs if only one cab is needed.

Big fan of the SWR triad. Not a fan of most of there cabs but the Triad sounds awesome. 15, 10 and a tweeter.

I use an Eden 2x12 with 1x15, and it's the most punishing tone ever IMHO. Doesn't seem like a lot of other players use that setup very often. I think I found the Brown Note, gotta go....

I like big cabs. 215, 412, 610, etc. It'd be cool to see something like the Henry, i.e. 8x8.
