What are your favorite strings and why

I did not intentionally become a GHS guy but my current favorites are:
P-Bass: GHS Precision Flats. IMO the best I've tried in the "traditional" flats catagory, clear, full and even, not as muddy or scooped as others.
Jazz Bass: GHS Pressurewounds. Nice feel, less string noise and annoying brightness, a nice low mid bump.

I've tried just about every round on the market. I recently tried Kalium strings and now I'm a complete convert. Unmatched clarity, long enough life and the ability to choose my own gauges. I'm sold. Little on the expensive side but completely worth it.

Rotosound 88's on my fretless 5. TI Jazz rounds (fundamental) and TI Jazz flats (octave) on my 10 string. Why? Because they sound great

DR High Beams.

Yes they're SS round wounds and I've never had to have a fret repair/replacement. They've been on 1 of my basses since 2002-ish.

I've also tried DR Pure blues cos they were a freebie - they're slightly less bright than high beams but good too.

I like Rotosounds for my P basses and Black Beauties for my Tbirds

EDIT: Rotos I just love the growl. BB's, they feel so good and sound to match

La Bella 760FL + P = Classic combo for thumpy goodness. Optimal balance in tension and tone.
Fender 9050CL + J = Meaty and full-bodied grind with a hint of growl. Optimal balance in tension and tone.

I also like GHS Pressurewound ML7200 on my J for some extra crunch without the zing.

Yet to be tried = La Bella 760QL (Quarter Rounds).

D'Addario XL170's. Sound, feel and price.

Elixirs on my Börjes main bass because then I'll only have to replace them once every six months or so, and D'Addario's on my Ibanez GWB fretless. I've never changed the strings on my Road Worn P, it's probably leaving soon.

I've been being Ernie Ball slinkies lately. Used to use Rotosound 66's, DR's, Fender, D'addario, etc. I kind of get whatever I am willing to spend at the time. Not too picky.

NYXL's (45-100) are my current strings of choice. The sound good. I've used them on Warwick, Fender and Yamaha basses. My biggest plus for these strings; They don't stretch as much as others that I've tried. I can change strings and do a gig the next day. I'm primarily a finger player and for a few songs will use a pick.

You can't beat DR Sunbeams for suppleness of feel and growliness of tone.

For rounds, I love they NYXL's. Everyone should give them a try.

But, I just tried Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats....holy cow. I put them on the P and the J and they really kill!! I highly recommend them!

Second on the Dunlop Super Bright steels. Great sound an relatively long lasting. Great price too (shhhhhhhh).

GHS Progressives. Absolutely perfect tone on my jazz bass. Punchy, full sound. I can play soft and get a delicate tone, or hard and they come alive. Fast responding physically, letting me play fast passages with ease. Literally no other strings that I've tried are quite like these.

I was an early adopter of webstrings...but felt the formula/quality changed around '07-'08...stopped buying them...as did the guitarist in my band at the time...how long have you been using them?
