Digital Photography: No, it ain't film (but geez Louise, I miss transparencies, I always said the world looked better on Fuji Velvia), but although black and white and souping my own negs and prints was fun, the convergence of the web, digital scanning reduced from copy machines to cameras, and the utter pain in the ass of developing and printing color print film made it an easy target to be done away with as soon as possible.
Seagulls in Tennessee? Who knew. Old Hickory Lake, just outside Nashville. Fujifilm XS-1.
Cooking: I'm almost 70, and living in Tennesse, 800 miles away from my upbringing in East Texas. So everything I miss up here, I taught myself to cook, after watching way too much Bourdain, Ramsey, and Irvine. My dad and most men I grew up around were great cooks, and now I am too. I can make my mother's Sunday Gravy (I'm part Sicilian), better brisket than most BBQ joints, and I love that it's something completely removed from music, something that was real important after I quit gigging to occupy myself.
Now, WHERE did I leave my Modelo Especiale . . . .
