What are your thoughts on this?

Im still waiting for the music to start :vomit::vomit::vomit::vomit:

OK one mans meat etc etc but as so many have said on here, no point, no aim, no path and no progression.

Just noise by a well paid, well known star for some more free "exposure".

Was it WC Fields who said " I font care what you print just spell the name right"

But at least he had his clothes on. Maybe ought to look into medication levels, possible need for adjustment.

I'll pass on the playing and tone, it doesn't do it for me but my first thought after the opening makeup/chalk thing was, "Is this Flea the performer when the cameras are on or is this really how he is (batsh**t crazy) in real life 24x7 ?" Great player but admittedly, I haven't really followed him much and so I'm curious.

I didn't watch much of it...
I'm guessing it was something in his contract with fender - you get this and we get this (including a video spot with a solo performance) - and Flea is having some fun with something he has to do. It's work for him, and maybe he's having a little fun with something he has to do.

My guess. I'd also guess that the average TB member is not the intended audience.

Some of it you could tell he was feeling it.. some of it he was fumbling. He's pretty much noodling/improving akin to looping a simple bass line on a looping pedal then kicking on effects.

Improv.. when it works its awesome.. but plenty of us have our moments when we struggle with making up lines and fills on the fly. Some of what he did sounded cool.. and he tried to own the stuff that didn't flow at least.

ANd yeah.. he's Flea.. he can do wtfever he wants, even I'm not too particularly fond of the sound of the bass in the video once he clicks the pedals off..

I'm sure there are plenty of people on these forums that are better at random improv bass solos.. so let's hear it.. but it's not going to change Flea's iconic status over decades of musical history. Hence - he has signature lines and most of us don't. ;)
