What bass do you plan to get next?

I'm seriously contemplating the acquisition of a Fender Olympic White Mustang bass. YEP!

Next major purchase will be a nice 5-string fretless... will possibly go custom because I'm into interesting-looking wood (a holdover from my former career as a kitchen designer & cabinet salesman).

I have 3 which is 1 too many. All 6-strings: Status Graphite Stealth, Zon Vinny and Turner Renissance. I have been trying if I should sell the Status or Zon. The Status is currently getting all the playing time, but that could change.

Now I know what my next bass is. The Ernie Ball Music Man Caprice. Played one at Guitar Center. Either that or their Cutlass. Thing kicks like a mule and plays rawer than any Fender since Leo. The Caprice, she's terrific and far better designed than any Jazz bass or many like them. Ah, but I also want a Fretless like the one Richard Bona played in this video with Larry Coryell and Bill Cobham in 1997.

I'm really not planning on getting any more basses, I'm happy and set with the ones I currently own. However, it has occurred to me that I might want to get a backup to my Modulus 6-string, since A) that's the bass I play most of the time; B) that's the bass that I have my most personal "voice" on; and C) I don't own any other 6-string basses. So if I ever start to worry about this one asploding -- or, worse, if it ever does crap the bed and need to be replaced -- I'll probably get a G.Gould GGi6-G Custom:

I'm currently having a Wendler Electrocoustic made for me. 35" 4 string fretless. Basically this exact bass...

...but with a satin finish and an elongated body to accommodate the longer scale and cut down on neck dive.

I wasn't planning on buying any more basses, but my 35" 4 string Carlo made me realize just how much I love that configuration and I've based all the neck specs for the Wendler off the Carlo. Even the wife is happy about it because I'm selling a few instruments to fund the Wendler!
