What bass gods do you idolize?

John Entwistle of course!! Such a horse in the bass!!

The only man I think I will ever allow myself to idolize.
I simply love his playing style and his stage presence. Townshend said in an interview that for years, when they played, people were wondering who was playing the bass.

'Tis a shame, I feel, that he chose to use that god-awful distortion on his sound during his later career.

Growing up, Steve Harris, Geddy Lee and Billy Sheehan were my inspiration. Then along came Stu Hamm, Brian Bromberg and Victor Wooten. Lately, it's been Matthew Garrison and Jonas Hellborg. I've purchased all of Garrison's cds in the past year and am in awe. As equally awe-inspiring has been the wonderful music from Hellborg...truly amazing...5 of the 6 cds playing in my 6 disk changer in my truck are Hellborg..the other is Garrison!

Tom Kennedy is probably my favorite "bass idol" these days. Incredible player and super nice guy, to boot. He's become a huge influence on me.

His bass playing means so much to me... He alone is the reason I have picked up bass!! His music takes me to another world, Sometimes I can only close my eyes and play his music in my head...

He is the biggest inspiration I have ever had (Along with the other members of Japan) I will always be very dedicated to him and every thing he ever does... His music is so beautiful, and everything about it is perfect!
