WHAT BASS I SHOULD GET

Thanks, I'll go see if I can find that. Otherwise, I like its more modern profile. It's definitely not old school, but neither is the sound. I have a set of Fender med gauge rounds on it (nickel or steel, can't remember), and I tend to favor the bridge pickup slightly. Thru my LA-1A it sounds like Iron Man punching you in the gut! Great passive tone, and does a very persuasive rock P-bass sound with the neck pickup solo'd.
Btw, since it was actually difficult to find

As I mentioned briefly in my giant comment, I bought a mikro 5er for a project- the project was a high tuned ‘alto’ bass, but I WILL SAY that the low-B on the instrument before I I frankensteined it was really surprisingly fat and usable, and like most short scales, all of the low notes in general had this punchy fatness and a great sounding roundness.
I play a 30" with a low C, and it's big and fat, maybe a tad colorless for some styles of music, but certainly playable.

Thanks for all the comments!!!! I live in the sf Bay Area and I am right now in the search of a good cheap bass off craigslist.

Looking at all the comments and my research I did on the web, I think i will be buying a used Ibanez GSR200

Currently on Craigslist, I see a GSR200 that’s selling for 120$ and condition like new.

I am going to wait a little bit more tho to see if there are more crazier deals.

Do not forget to check Facebook Marketplace as well. They even have more basses the craiglist. I believe that craiglist started charging users in order to post their product so Facebook marketplace is a great place to find use basses locally.

Under $150, you're pretty much begging. I'd cruise pawn shops in your area, especially if your area has a live music scene to speak of. You're probably going to end up with a Squier Affinity, First Act or similar bare-bones entry-level instrument. Basses with more recognizable labels selling at this pricepoint probably have something wrong with them, which you may or may not be able to fix.

If you can even double your budget, you'll start getting into respectable product lines of some of the more well-known import brands. Personally, at the sub-$300 level I'd be looking at Yamaha. Yamaha have a reputation as learner's instruments; affordable, with the priority being feel and playability, then sound, and looks last. As such, they don't tend to look like much on the wall, but they'll feel much better in your hands. Avoid the 17x line of instruments, they're Yamaha's attempt to compete at the very lowest pricepoints and it shows. Pretty much anything in the BB, RBX and TRBX series with a model number 200 and above will be a quality if basic instrument that can be set up for excellent playability and will give you a good sound. $300 will give you access to most new 200-series models, and older used 300 and 400 series.
