Eric Wilson very rarely is ever mentioned. Given how popular Sublime is among the youth to this very day I think he deserves a bit more recognition for really driving many of Sublimes songs that definitely stand up to time.

However, when discussions about the greatest bass players come up in polls and magazines, more then a few times I notice her name missing. This is my point.

What bass players do you feel like aren't brought up enough or deserve more credit and why?

For me, it's Peter Hook. Obviously not the least known bass player ever but he's rarely ever brought up and I don't feel like he gets enough credit as a bass player or as a melody writer.

Well, outside of here and the boardrooms of certain MI manufacturers, no one cares about bass players. The general public may know about Paul McCartney, Sting, etc., but they’re personalities first, who just happen to play large guitars. Otherwise…

I just haven’t seen that, at all. She is a regular on top bassist/most influential bassists polls. Google her name and you’ll see she is given a good amount of coverage. She isn’t going to be in every list, if that’s your point. But, a lot of these bassists mentioned in this thread I’ve never even heard of but know their work.
