Forget what is frozen to the glass, the colder the beer the more it numbs your taste buds and the less you can taste it.
That's why fizzy light American Macro brews taste great when they are near or below freezing, and taste like crap at 55°F. You're not actually tasting them when they are very cold. It could be Llama piss and it would taste good.

Don't get me wrong, I live on the Gulf coast of Alabama, and when I'm done cutting the grass when the temperature is 102 and the humidity is 99.99999%, I want a cold beer. When I'm trying to taste and savor and enjoy a beer, I want it between 45 and 55 degrees F.

For the "holy crap I'm hot and thirsty and want a beer" ice cold stuff, I'll tolerate Coors, but it's gotta be COLD (i.e. 33F or so) before I will even consider it.

If you try to drink anything like Coors at 45F or below.....

Too much residual macro junk. I don't think that'll ever truly go away. We must keep in mind that light beer was brewed that way due to grain rationing during the wars. Between the wars, depression, and prohibition, enough time had elapsed that people forgot what beer was supposed to taste like.

Unlike the UK folk, I just can't get past 55 degrees. I know a good beer is still drinkable, but I prefer 42-50 or so.

i like to have warm sapporos in the beginning of saturday practice around noon, and when it gets unbearably hot in the house i break out the cold blue moons around two thirty, there is no really sophisticated reason for this, it's just the way it is

When it comes to working outside and needing a cold beer, I love Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy. It tastes so good on a hot day, or even on a cold day.

And don't you like to sip through that foam first before you get to the actual beer....
I don't know how easy it is for you guys to get to taste foreign beers but there are numerous GREAT beers that will have you spankin' passing by ladies' bottoms just because you're on a high of some richly riped tripple flavored beer, having drunk just enough to get you going. I know I do... and Brussels is a big city full of life and people, and... good looking bottoms. Man!

Westmalle tripple: heavy on the stomach, but very rich in taste and it fires you up big time.

Duvel: tastes like a regular pint but with a heavier touch, 8 degrees, very subtle, don't drink too much of it.

Kasteelbier: royal taste, kind of thick, best served not too cold, good for any discussion from politics to sex.

Orval: a regular autumn beer, by the fire, rain, leaves falling, very colourful, soft taste, subtle, very open.

Teusser: the sticker on the bottle sports a farmer with his cow
while looking out to her, can't go wrong with that. Straight up local beer, loved by many.

Right now i'm having Duvel.

I'm not really drinking beer but I'm making "mini beers." I'm taking 3/4 shot of Licor 43 and 1/4 shot of heavy whipping cream/ When mixed together, it looks like a little beer in the shot glass. These things are dangerous.

Today, I'm drinking Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Columbus Brewing Company's IPA, which is a great beer. They can't make enough of it to meet the demand of some of the stores around here. They had to stop brewing a few others in order to keep this stuff stocked in stores.

I gave this a whirl for International Beer Day, Innis and Gunn Rum Cask, it has the fruit/rum compliment but if anything a little too full bodied and heavy for me, just a couple would do. Trying Sierra Nevada Pale at the moment for the first time, I'm impressed I must say, v.good character and taste.

Tried Landshark Lager and Kalik "The Beer of the Bahamas" last week on vacation in the Bahamas and they were alright, if you like Corona you'd like them, I'm not really a fan of the island lager type. I usually prefer Miller Highlife myself.

Had Boulevard's double wit last weekend at a local bistro. I had scallops with snap peas, bacon, garlic, and an apricot puree/dipping sauce. Went very well with the food. I was glad I asked the waitress, but it's 8% and it doesn't feel anything like an 8% ABV beer. I'm too much of a light weight to have ordered a 2nd.
