Forget what is frozen to the glass, the colder the beer the more it numbs your taste buds and the less you can taste it.
That's why fizzy light American Macro brews taste great when they are near or below freezing, and taste like crap at 55°F. You're not actually tasting them when they are very cold. It could be Llama piss and it would taste good.
Don't get me wrong, I live on the Gulf coast of Alabama, and when I'm done cutting the grass when the temperature is 102 and the humidity is 99.99999%, I want a cold beer. When I'm trying to taste and savor and enjoy a beer, I want it between 45 and 55 degrees F.
