Bartenders and servers always look at me like I've got a third eye when I tell them I don't want a frozen mug.
I used to tend bar and I know how they put them in the freezer before the glass has dripped dry. You end up with ice and sometimes frozen sanitizing solution in the beer, ruins the beer, tastes horrible (like dishwater) and could make you sick.
I'm glad my favorite local watering hole doesn't put their beer glasses in a freezer.
Nope, it's Belgian. It's named after the city the company was founded and where it's still brewed
You're right, my mistake. I got confused because our houseguest from Germany was looking at the wheat beers and I picked this one out to try. I didn't realize until I got it home that it was Belgian.
Couldn't find the Shiner Ruby Redbird or LH Juju Ginger so I went with Victory Whirlwind Wheat. Liking the citrus and sour wheat beers this hot summer. Oberon doesn't seem to taste as good this year - too spicy?
Had a Northcoast Brother Thelonius Dubbel last night. Good but not great. Tasted a Great Divide Yeti (seemed like a decent stout) and Left Hand Stranger Pale Ale (yuk).

Just had one! It's definitely my old-faithful. You can get it most anywhere, it doesn't cost a fortune and it's pretty damn good.
I do love many other beers but when I don't feel like spending on the beers that are worth it or you are in the middle of nowhere, it's definitely my first choice.
A LOT better
I really don't care for Sam Adams at all. It and Guinness are the only two beers I've ever had that I couldn't finish.
Guinness isn't that bad. I usually use it to kill some car bombs. If you add a shot of Jameson and a shot of Baileys, you'll find yourself tore up by the 4th one.
Irish Car Bombs are pretty damn tasty, but I find that Guinness on its own tastes and smells like vomit. It's got that slight taste of stomach acid going on when it goes down
Liquor mart and all it's glorious beer closes before I get off work often times, so ive been drinking some Sam Adams summer ale. It's slightly above 'meh'.
I like microbreweries. I enjoyed The Horny Goat brewery in Wisconsin. I also like Spotted Cow, which I can't seem to get in Illinois. Prairie Rock was one of my favorites with their vanilla ale but they went out of business a few years ago. Sucks there isn't a good microbrewery near me anymore. Lately I just settle for a Killians Red or a Bass.
Just opened my first (of 8) bottles of this last night:
Interesting experience, right out of the bottle after opening, the high alcohol content combined with the taste imparted by the bourbon barrel aging was slightly bitter. Once it had a chance to "breathe" a bit, about 10 minutes in the glass, that bitterness just vanished.
All I can say is this stuff is nirvana in a beer bottle. Chocolate, coffee, bourbon, vanilla nirvana.

Had some Cornstalker Dark Wheats last night that were freaking delicious. IN DA CLUB!
Where did you get that? It's brewed in my neck of the woods. I really like their honey wheat. Tastes like a normal wheat beer, but with much higher alcohol, which is very sneaky since it doesn't have more body or recoil like heavier beers.
Honestly, someone had them in a cooler at a private party. I'd like to know so I could get more. I wonder if they ship.
