And now on to the NYE party.....
We'll be partaking all of the brews that we've made over the course of the last year.
9 different homebrews, and all different styles, and flavors, running the gamut
from a low gravity stout through an over the top IPA dry hopped with a half pound of hops!
(that one used over a pound and a half total)

so umm.... how do I get out to grand rapids, from the tunnel in detroit? :D

I am incredibly jealous, my band is having our CD release party in our local favourite bar to gig in. Unfortunately, like all bars that feature bands in Windsor, Ontario, and I imagine like most bars that feature bands anywhere, they don't have much micro-brewed stuff, although they do have a fair selection that includes the better macros and imports.

Had some Maharaja Imperial IPA last night. This is another reason I love this time of year.

Man, this thread is killing me! I've had a lot of joint pain lately, and one finger deformed, due to gout it seems. So no beer for me this xmas. Have the fridge stocked with these

, plus some Sam Adams and Hoegarden and I'm restricted to water!

Get on that allopurinol.....gout doesn't go away! You don't want that crap building up in more joints! My dad genetically gave me and my three brothers that little "present". Allopurinol really does the job keeping it under control for us.

Anyone try the Guinness Black Lager? I know it's not as "special" as most of the creations on this thread but it's actually not bad!

I love a good Guinness but the Black Lager was not my style, unfortunately. I expected something more appealing than what it ended up being, given how great their stuff typically is. It wasn't horrible but I doubt I'll be going back to it. At least you like it, though!

Had some of that last week, yes it's actually not bad, but not great either. I just finished some Magic Hat Black Lager and found it to be a lot like the Guinness. Sam Adams does Black Lager better than anybody I've tried.
I'm working on a Sam Adams Cream Stout right now and I'm liking it a lot.

I got strung out on the Magic Hat Howl last year until I tried the Sam Adams Black Lager and I totally agree, it is the best I've tried too. Tonight I'm drinking Schwarzbier from Duck-Rabbit. It's a black lager that is quite interesting with some smoky/coffee overtones; not like most I've tried.
