I guess I'm a Leo Fender fan. I've owned more Fenders (two Jazz's and a Precision) and Musicman's (two Stingrays) than anything else. I'd also love to add a G&L (L-2500) sometime down the line.
Come to think of it, my the 55-02 I used to have was Jazz/Stingray inspired and my SX is a Jazz copy. The odd man out was an ESP LTD-B204 I had for about three weeks a long time ago.

I have had great experience with Ibanez basses, having two of them. I think their sound is great for how much I paid for them (not much!). I have played some really good Fenders as well. While I don't own a decent one, I have played decent models (the one I enjoyed playing the most thus far is the Marcus Miller Signature bass, great sound and feel) and I can say I'd buy a Fender if I was going to go out right now and buy another 4 string. I have recently started playing a Warwick Corvette Fretless, and the sound is exceptional. So those are probably my 3 favourite brands, depending on what you're asking for.
The OP is making a chart or graph of some sort? For a school project/assignment I'm guessing
Valenti, Skjold, and Lakland, not in any particular order though. Each has it's different points that I like about them.
