Fender has mine. An obvious choice. They have everything that I need. I'm at:

American Standard Jazz Bass with rounds
American Standard P Bass with flats
Elite 5 string with rounds
77 Music Master with tapewounds
Mexican fretless with flats

what company are you committed to?

I am not brand loyal. Seems silly to me to limit oneself.

Just like ford vs Chevy vs mopar. There are great examples of each. To limit to a brand just limits yourself.

No brand of anything has ALL my loyalty as brands are just that, names that are often bought and sold. How many owners has Fender had? Has every iteration of Fender been the same, quality wise?

Lots of folks re-phrasing the question in a positive way, so I guess I’ll try that too. The brands that have given me the most satisfaction and no disappointments are Sadowsky, Mesa, and Phil Jones Bass.

Sadowsky and Warwick. Actually bought a recent Metroexpress new! Didn't want to wait for the ones from China, which were of lesser spec anyway. Then everything changed! Warwicks are too pricey for me to buy new, so I have a used Thumb '93, and two Streamer LXs, 2003, 2006. The Warwicks are on the heavy side, but that is forgiven as they sound amazing.

Squier/Fender have always had my loyalty and always will but I have a Yamaha and Ibanez that blow me away. Dare i say it, the BB424X out precisions my precision bass.

I got s squier vintage modified precision bass as my first bass. Although I could have gotten better bang for my buck, the precision inspired me to play as I could emulate the tones of my favorite bassists ( or try to)

Not so much brand loyalty but admiration of the developer.

My woodworking shop is as much a museum as it is woodshop. I collect Delta woodworking machines of the 1924 to 1939 time frame that Herb Tautz, the developer of Delta Specialty Machines, owned the company. There are a few after him from the forties and one from the fifties.

Anyway, I admire Leo Fender. He got it right, and did it with the first bass he developed. The ones that followed, Jaguar, Jazz, Stingray, L-1000, L2000, etcetera were also great creations of his.

I won't say brand loyal, I also like Gibsons, Rics, Ibernezers and so on...

MJC Ironworks... the only roundwound string I ever really bonded with

i've never been a single brand loyalist. most of my current basses are ibanez, but i have one fender, a traveler and a squier in the house, and have had more fenders and squiers and ibanez. previously i had more squiers than ibanez, and i've owned and loved other brands, as well.

currently own and love a rumble 40 combo, a TC head and ampeg cab.

if a bass or amp is great for me, and i'm looking for something, i'll buy it regardless of brand.
